For this image I wanted to play around with layering and the difference in light and dark, where I would have the opportunity to use more saturated colours to give the impression of light being shone. The environment that I have used in this piece is made up from a variety of different plants that wouldn’t usually be associated with one another. Therefore giving the impression of an unknown place that is being explored.

This project was based around the idea of travelling into the unknown. I worked with the idea of tribes and how welcoming they can be to explorers. The basis for this piece of work came from an article that I read from The Guardian titled “Explorer Ed Stafford on travelling in the unknown – on his own.”
